Subject: Great set!
Subject: Great set!
This is not a five star show because, first of all, it's only one set. Bummer. The Dylan set to follow was pretty darn good, though. Second, the interplay between Warren and Derek isn't quite as snappy as the Warren and Jimmy dynamics were in the Q. (No, this is not the Q, but almost.)
Funny thing. In the fall of 2000, I found a 3 CD set of this show in Rockland, Maine. There used to be this little record store upstairs on the corner of Limerock and Main. It felt a bit sketchy to be buying a "boot," but heck, it had both the Phil and Dylan sets.
This is a better recording, actually. Nevertheless, this is a great line up. It's very similar to the Q, but they never take off at lightning speed the same way. 1999-2003 are peak Phil and Friends years. Good stuff.

Q great show thanks for recording the quintessential Phil Band
Warren - I saw Warren at Chautauqua for the first time with the Allman Brothers Band!
The Q = quintessential = players with Phil
Lineup: Phil Lesh - bass and vocals, John Molo - drums,
Derek Trucks - guitar, Rob Barraco - keyboards, Warren Haynes - guitar and vocals.

I lived in augusta at the time of this show and had never seen a show there. Well good things come to those who wait (kind things) Phil was on top of his game that night. Dillan sounded like his usual self but otherwise a show worth having in the collection....
